???

Looking for reliable, committed WWOOFers, especially solos or twosomes. More than 2 at a time not accepted. Organic, self-sufficiency project of one hectare in Chiang Mai, owned by Wilat (Thai) and Lesley (British),with a rice paddy; ponds and irrigation canals for fishing; geese, hens and ducks (for eggs); and vegetables, fruit and herbs. Opposite a temple, with mountain views all around. The project is still under development, with plans for future expansion to include the rearing of insects (for food). Generally breakfast and lunch are eaten with the family, while dinner is self-catering. Wilat and Lesley are fish/seafood eating vegetarians but have no objections if WWOOFers want to cook other things for dinner. Within the framework of a two-week minimum stay with no maximum, the average day includes a little general help in the garden before breakfast; three hours in the morning; and around three hours in the afternoon, with two days off a week. However, Wwoofers should be prepared to be flexible: this is not a '9 to 5' situation! The type of work depends on the season, there always being a certain amount of "yard work" needing to be done to keep everywhere looking neat and tidy. Wilat is getting involved with local organic groups and also with alternative energy projects: e.g. he now uses a solar dessication unit for preserving spare produce, drying seeds etc .
